The serious cook’s board.

Made from solid teak in an end-grain pattern, this board has swirling growth rings and rich golden-brown tones that make every piece one of a kind. It’s built for people who cook every day and want a board that lasts.

Teak is prized by woodworkers and boat builders for its natural oils, which help it resist moisture and stay stable over time. The end-grain construction means the wood fibres face upward, so your knife slips between them instead of cutting across them. That’s gentler on your knife edges and helps the surface hide cut marks.

Both sizes are a solid 2.5 cm thick and sit firmly on the bench without sliding around. Recessed side grips make them easier to lift and move.

Choose your size

  • Medium (34 × 24 cm): the everyday all-rounder for veggies, meat and herbs, and easy to store and move around
  • Large (42 × 30 cm): plenty of room for carving roasts, breaking down a chicken or prepping a whole meal at once

Why you’ll love it

  • Solid teak with naturally water-resistant oils
  • End-grain surface that’s gentle on knives and hides cut marks
  • Heavy, stable build that stays put while you work
  • Side grips for easier lifting
  • Striking swirled grain that looks great left out on the bench

Caring for your board
Hand wash with warm soapy water and dry it standing upright. Every few weeks, rub in a little food-safe board oil to keep the timber rich and protected. Please don’t put it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking.

Every board is one of a kind

Each board is made from natural timber, so the grain, colour and the odd knot will vary from piece to piece. That's the beauty of real wood. The board you receive will be uniquely yours and may look slightly different from the photos.

Questions, answered

End grain or edge grain: what's the difference?

End-grain boards are made from blocks with the wood fibres facing up, like the top of a bundle of straws. Your knife slips between the fibres, so they're the gentlest on your blades and hide cut marks well.

Edge-grain boards show the long, flowing grain of the timber. They're lighter, slimmer and easier to move around, which makes them perfect for everyday prep and serving.

Which oil should I use?

Any food-safe board oil or food-grade mineral oil works well. Avoid cooking oils like olive or vegetable oil, as they can turn rancid over time.

Is it safe to cut raw meat on a wooden board?

Yes. Wash the board with hot soapy water straight after use and dry it standing upright. Many cooks keep one board for raw meat and another for fruit, vegetables and bread.

Can I put my board in the dishwasher?

Please don't. The heat and water in a dishwasher can warp or crack natural timber. A quick hand wash and dry is all it needs.

Will my board look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not identical. Every board is cut from natural timber, so the grain and colour are unique to your piece.

Does it make a good gift?

A beautiful board is a gift that gets used every single day. If you're buying for Christmas, order early so it arrives in time.
